Helping organisations make sense of complexity

I help organisations understand what's getting in the way and create paths forward.

My career has followed an unconventional path through technology, healthcare, community services and volunteer-led organisations. While the industries and job titles have varied, I've consistently been drawn to situations where work is getting stuck, ownership isn't clear, or people can't quite see the whole picture. I am naturally drawn to environments where priorities compete, ownership isn't always clear, and people are working from different pieces of the picture. I've always been interested in how people, processes and information interact inside organisations. Whether it's a project, a governance process, a service, a team or an entire organisation, I naturally look for the points where things are harder than they need to be.

The cause varies. It might be unclear ownership, limited visibility, competing priorities or a process that no longer fits the way people work. My instinct is to understand what's actually happening before jumping to solutions. Once the underlying issue is clear, I enjoy creating structure, improving visibility and helping people move forward with less friction.

Throughout my career I have helped organisations:

  • Understand where work is getting stuck
  • Improve visibility of priorities, risks and progress
  • Create governance that supports decision-making
  • Reduce friction between teams, stakeholders and processes
  • Coordinate complex initiatives with multiple moving parts
  • Use technology and automation to simplify administration
  • Turn ideas and intentions into action

Alongside my professional work, I have held board and governance leadership roles within member-based and community organisations, providing experience in strategic planning, governance reform, stakeholder engagement and organisational sustainability.

I am motivated by helping people move from ideas and intentions to outcomes.
