Bio - the long version
Ashlee’s background showcases diversity across industries and business functions, with a unique combination of concurrent corporate and association experience. Her 23-year career spans sales, marketing, events, channel and business project coordination as well as executive office support for global organisations like SHL, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Citrix, LogMeIn and GoTo.
While also working full-time, Ashlee has held various grassroots and voluntary leadership roles in the Australian not-for-profit sector since 2011. She started in grassroots local club committee roles with the Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA), a national membership-driven organisation, then made a move to the incorporated NSW state body and subsequently joined the Board of Directors in 2013. She held a director role with AMBA in a volunteer capacity for 8 years, and was Chairperson for the last 5 years of her decade of service.
Ashlee was on the committee of the Hydrocephalus Support Association (HSA) for 2 years until mid 2023, another national membership-driven organisation, and used her broad range of experience to work on strategic projects and deliver a broad range of projects including conference branding, messaging and marketing, revitalised member communications, new website development, and awareness campaign activity. She is also a Director for the International Council of Multiple Birth Organisations (ICOMBO), an international membership-based organisation. In 2022, Ashlee joined the newly created charity, Donor Conceived Australia as a member of the donor conceived community. She was actively involved in goverance and collaborating with the founders on developing the foundations of a strong organisation that can further progress regulatory, legislative and policy change for donor conceived people in Australia.
While actively serving her community, Ashlee also works full-time in Sydney for a small tech organisation, TidyHQ, an organisation she was familiar with having used the technology for a number of years in volunteer organisations. She manages executive programs for the CEO, along with many varied projects including meeting governance, event management, strategy planning, customer support and operational improvement programs. Prior to making the move to Tidy, Ashlee worked for the global tech company GoTo for 10 years supporting the Asia Pacific Regional Vice President.
Ashlee’s corporate and association experience has enabled her to take the best of both worlds and be involved in a variety of initiatives that ultimately result in positive outcomes for an exceptional stakeholder experience. She can talk to a group of people about the mission of an association, how that association is working towards it, and design member initiatives to increase the member value proposition. She can also get down and dirty with online email platforms, database customisation, survey design, member engagement, social media admin, graphic design and webinar moderation. She has a special ability to engage with a range of audiences and adjust her style to match. Ashlee is a curious person who believes in passion and purpose, and she sees how foundational these are in the success of both corporate organisations and associations. She likes to question the status quo and gets kicks from working out why people and businesses do what they do.
Ashlee thrives on organisational alignment and is skilled at delivering with passion, has a proactive attitude and a commitment to reach goals. She embraces organisational change and business transformation when aligned to achievement of business goals. She is adept at expressing the purpose and mission of her organisation with enthusiasm and infusing a commitment to the big-picture vision at every level.
